More on specific anxiety states

Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)

If you have felt anxious for a long time and often feel fearful, but are not anxious about anything specific that is happening in your life, you might be diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder (GAD).

Because there are lots of possible symptoms and effects of anxiety this can be quite a broad diagnosis, meaning that the problems you experience with GAD might be quite different from the problems another person experiences, even though you have the same diagnosis.

Panic disorder

If you experience panic attacks that seem completely unpredictable and you can’t identify what triggers them, you might be given a diagnosis of panic disorder.

Experiencing panic disorder can mean that you feel constantly afraid of having another panic attack, to the point that this fear itself can trigger your panic attacks.

I will teach you how to interrupt that pattern and reframe your thoughts.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a diagnosis you could be given if anxiety leads you to experience:

* Obsessions – unwelcome thoughts, images, urges or doubts that appear OVER AND OVER in your mind

* Compulsions – repetitive activities that you feel you MUST do

Fears and Phobias

A Phobia is an intense Fear of something, even when that thing is very unlikely to be dangerous to you. If you have a phobia, your anxiety may be triggered by very specific situations or objects – eg Spiders. Needles.

Fear is very similar but may be more related to such stimuli as eg Heights or Flying.

For more see my Fear and Phobias page

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

If you develop strong feelings of anxiety after experiencing or witnessing something that you found very traumatic, you might be given a diagnosis of PTSD.

If you suffered: “repeated and persistent repetitions of traumatic events or abuse,” you are likely to develop POST Traumatic Stress Disorder.

PTSD can cause flashbacks or nightmares which can feel like you’re re-living all the fear and anxiety you experienced during the actual event.

However not everyone develops PTSD – we don’t know why that is.

Many people develop PTSD many years after the experience(s).

Strategies to deal with Anxiety Depression OCD Panic Disorder GAD PTSD

There are many strategies which can help you deal with WHY you may be suffering anxiety and panic attacks or stress and we can usually get to the bottom of what is causing the difficulty with hypnosis and make those therapeutic changes with mindfulness that will enable you to get by the problem and find a better Quality of Mind.

This not a matter of being “all in the mind” but is often also about making adjustments to your mindset, and sometimes even diet and lifestyle in the case of depression, to combat these distressing symptoms.

Hypnotherapy and NLP can help reframe or redefine the problem.

You should feel that you can get beyond these problems and see that the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train coming the other way.

negative thought

Why do I get an anxiety or panic attack?

In the case of anxiety stress and panic attacks, fears and phobias – much of the problem is with the “fight or flight mechanism” which dumps adrenaline into our system to fight the predator or run away.

This was useful when we might have been prey to a sabre tooth tiger but most of the time is not helpful in the 21st century – after all we don’t want to fight our accountant or run away when they suggest we should curb our spending!

When we try to ignore the unpleasant and escalating feelings the subconscious might feel we haven’t noticed and continue to dump more and more adrenaline into our circulation until we almost pass out!

A little “nerves”stress or anxiety is fine and natural – indeed sometimes beneficial – but panic attacks anxiety or stress can be connected with an exaggerated response to stimuli.

We need to be able to tell our subconscious, which governs our responses, to stop dumping so much adrenaline into our system – that we have noticed the alert and we don’t really need that response – and train ourselves to be calmer and more confident in any situation that has given us anxious feelings in the past.

This is all possible with hypnosis and NLP which enables you to change how you feel in a mindful way and act to get control of the situation with a strategy.

When you are anxious you may feel that the onset of anxiety cannot be stopped but there are strategies that can work to help head off most  incidents.

You don’t need to feel surrounded and hemmed in by all that negativity – you can learn to turn around that low state and get in touch with your higher happier states of mind more often.

You can also learn how to address the triggers that caused your anxiety or panic – which may lie in experiences in the past that have become an underlying template which causes certain things to create the anxiety state.

Change the template and see the anxiety reduce or even disappear. You are very much what you think.

“If you realised how powerful your thoughts were – you would never think a negative thought again.”

We will also look at the root of the issue with the clearance protocol – which is a very benign approach – I have no person shaped holes in my front door!

This will help you change how you think feel and act about past triggers as you address the source of your anxiety stress or depression.

Depersonalisation Derealisation Disorder

It is hard to find treatment for Depersonalisation Derealisation Disorder or DDD and yet one in every 100 are thought to suffer from this distressing condition.

It is very close to being a trance like or hallucinogenic state. Things seem unreal and the sufferer feels detached from reality – as if 2D.

Hypnosis and NLP are very good at dealing with the anxiety and panic states.

Depersonalisation Disorder can therefore be treated by dehypnotising the subject.

It is also possible that the hallucination like state is a result of stress or panic or anxiety and so the worst that can happen is that you learn some techniques to deal with panic anxiety pain stress and fear.

We can also teach the unconscious to relate to the world in a “normal” way again.

I am offering this at a reduced rate to look for an approach.
